One year of blogging!

Granted I don't blog every day or even every week but I have enjoyed the last year. One of the first things I included pictures of was of the girls at the Kentucky State Truck Driving Championship. Well, that was this past weekend and Daddy participated again. He did so well. He came in 3rd place in his class - he missed 2nd by just 7 points and he missed 1st by 43 points! Maybe next year will be his year!

The more things change.....

.......the more they stay the same. Okay, here are a few things that are currently driving me crazy.

  • One of the things Olivia did that drove me crazy is that she would go in the bathroom and play in the sink. Water would be everywhere along with soap and toothpaste. Well, Sophia is now doing this and it is driving me nuts!
  • Why is it that you can have something on a shelf out of the way and your little darling (Olivia) gets it down and dumps it everywhere? (Happened yesterday and now she is not allowed in our bedroom until further notice)
  • Why is it that they know they are not to write on the walls with anything but they think that since you can't "see" the Benadryl pen on the wall that they are "in the clear"?
  • Why can they not sit at the table and eat without getting up?
  • Why do they put my cloth shower curtain in the tub and get it all wet even though I tell them every time to keep it out of the tub?
  • If they take a bath in my big tub, why can't they do as I've asked and to not fill the candle holders up with water?

I love my girls but sometimes I get tired of saying the same old thing every day. Both girls are happy and healthy. Sophia is saying more words and her speech therapist was proud of her today as she had a few new words. Olivia is starting to help get her to say things the proper way.

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day was actually a whole weekend! David and the girls made me breakfast in bed on Saturday. I got eggs, bacon, toast and chocolate milk (since I don't drink coffee). That evening we had "adult night" with our friends. We went out for pizza and bowling and had a great time! We have some made some really awesome friends and love getting together with them. Sunday we went to church and came back home to grill out for David's family. Sunday evening we went to my mom's house for a little while.

School program and the zoo

The girls had their school program and did an awesome job. Sophia's class sang "Shoo Fly" and swatted flyswatters. She was so cute up there. Olivia's class sang 2 songs "Arky, Arky" and "Act Like An Animal". Daddy took the day off from work to attend. We went to gymnastics, the zoo and then the program. Olivia has come a long way when it comes to the zoo. She has always liked most of the exhibits EXCEPT the gorillas. We always walked through but she was not happy about it. This day it was as if something clicked and she knew she would not be hurt by them. She asked to see them and then insisted I take her picture. I don't know how well these will post but I do want to share them.
